The following information outlines details for the 2018 UST Young Scientist Research Program, which is dedicated to fostering leadership in research and promoting creative mindsets for taking on challenges at a global level.

1. Research Track

- Objectives : Build research capacities of UST students through student-led research projects related to the research institutes’ mission project to help them develop into professional researchers

- Eligibility : Research team composed of UST Student* and Advising Professor

   * Correction (as of Sep. 18): Those who have completed at least 2 semesters of a Ph.D. course or 5 semesters of integrative course

- Topic : Any topic related to the mission of the research institute

- Funds : Up to 50,000,000 KRW per project

- Period : 1 year (12 months) following the signing of the agreement


2. Challenge Track

- Objectives : Students design and conduct their own challenging projects to strengthen their creative and problem-solving capacities while also establishing a network of science and technology professionals

- Eligibility : Current UST Students (UST students can form a team)

- Topic : Any pioneering or challenging project that is linked to applicant's major studies (excluding those under the Research Track)

- Funds : Up to 5,000,000 KRW per project

- Period : Student proposes and committee approves

- Period : Sep. 14, 2018 - Oct. 15, 2018 at 18:00
