The University of Science and Technology (UST) is accepting applications from prospective students for master’s and doctoral programs for the fall 2021 semester.

UST is accepting applications in promising science and technology fields, such as information and communications technology (ICT), biotechnology, production technology, and integrated nano-information technology. In addition, new students in the fields of materials, components, equipment, and semiconductors are also being accepted with the goal of fostering expert human resources in research, which lies at the core of competitive power among Korea’s companies. The application period for new students is from March 18th to April 8th at 17:00.

Furthermore, outstanding third- and fourth-year undergraduate students have the opportunity to submit early applications for the spring 2022 semester. Those who are accepted will be able to participate in research internships and will have academic advisors assigned to them, so that they can get an early start in adjusting to life at UST. Other benefits include admission fee waivers and scholarships of up to 5 million KRW.

UST is also accepting new applications for the Industry Cooperation Research Education (I-CORE) program, which guarantees students employment after completing their degree program. This program is jointly operated by UST, partner companies, and government-funded research institutes, and accepted students are guaranteed employment after graduation, along with scholarships that are awarded separately every year during their degree program.

UST is scheduled to hold an online admissions orientation event to provide even more detailed information on the admissions process. During this event, a real-time Q&A session will be conducted to promote discussions between faculty members and students. For more information on the selection process and mentoring, please visit the UST admissions website and the online admissions orientation website

As an educational institution under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), UST currently offers 46 majors in the field of emerging integrated and convergence technologies by granting educational functions to 32 national research institutes in Korea. Through opportunities to participate in national research projects, UST students can not only obtain knowledge and develop skills from excellent faculty members, but also receive field-oriented education utilizing cutting-edge research facilities and equipment.
