Nano-Information convergence major includes both of Nanomaterials Science/Engineering program and HCI & Robotics program, and aims at providing students with higher education and chances to obtain practical experience by participating in many projects in Nano and information technology fields. Topics covered in nanomaterials research include energy materials, environmental materials, biomaterials, biosensors, nonlinear optical devices, nonlinear nanomaterials, optical signals, surface engineering, polymer synthesis and polymer composites, multifunctional oxide epitaxial thin films and interface, piezoelectric MEMS, Thermoelectric materials and devices, semiconductors, condensed-matter physics, photonics, quantum information communication, quantum cryptography, quantum computer. The topics covered in HCI and robotics research are service robots, field robots, surgical robots, healthcare robots, robot task and motion planning, human-robot interaction, social robotics, brain-computer interface, haptic interface, digital holography, tangible media, web information space, human-computer interaction, computer vision, computer graphics, augmented reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, machine learning.

Nanomaterials Science & Engineering NSE aims at providing prospective professional researchers with higher education that can help them to develop a specialized background and the R&D competence required to solve significant problems in engineering applications and to successfully explore diverse solutions based on understanding of nonlinear, unusual, or new properties of materials with respect to their nano-scale structures.
HCI & Robotics The students in this major are expected to acquire a fundamental knowledge in the major subjects of HCI and Robotics, such as immersive virtual reality, physics based simulation, media and internet technology, multimodal perception and interaction, robot perception and actuation, knowledge representation and reasoning, human-robot interaction, and mechanism design. Also, they are expected to gain practical experience to meet the challenge of future cutting-edge technology by participating in national projects in HCI & Robotics.
