Hereafter, it is time to need the innovation in new materials and chemical engineering on a different level from conventional technologies at Industry 4.0. The specialty for Advanced Materials and Chemical Engineering at UST-KRICT consists of two research areas of advanced materials and chemical engineering to pursue cutting-edge technology. Advanced materials is an interdisciplinary specialty area that focuses on potential applications and fundamental properties of functional materials based on chemistry. Our program of teaching and research in this specialty area spans not only the breadth of chemistry including the design, synthesis and characterization but also fundamental physics, process, and simulation of the chemistry convergence materials. More specialized areas such as 1) Molecular engineering for advanced materials, 2) Information & electronics materials, and 3) Green & renewable energy materials are also covered. Chemical engineering is a multidisciplinary research area that can get a clue to solve global environmental issue by using state-of-the-art technology of CCUS (Carbon Capture Storage Utilization) for Green Industry, Greenhouse (CO2) Gas Reduction, and Bio-based Chemistry for Eco-friendly Process based on Environment Technology (ET) and Biotechnology (BT), which are necessary to restore and conserve ecosystems on earth. The program also focuses on cultivating creative research manpower who meets industry’s need via making a connection with job training.

Chemical Engineering Chemical engineering (CE) is a multidisciplinary research areas based on chemistry, physics and biology that can get a clue for global sustainability. Especially, our department focus research on Carbon Capture Storage Utilization for Green Industry, Greenhouse (CO2) Gas Reduction, and Bio-based Chemistry for Eco-friendly Process, which are necessary to restore and conserve ecosystems on earth.
