Mineralogy and Resource Geology

Summary

Lecture Objectives

  • This course includes mineralogy, economic geology, and mineral processing for understanding basic theories and applications of mineral resources. Mineralogy focuses on the identification of minerals by covering the classification of minerals and analysis methods. Economic geology focuses on the understanding of various mineral deposits by covering interpretation of geotectonic, geological and geochemical formation environments to form mineral deposits. Mineral processing covers the basic areas for understanding the industry utilization of minerals and the study of mineral process for them.
Climate Change and Geologic Hazards 3 Korean course Major 본원 -
Course Name

Climate Change and Geologic Hazards

Summary

Lecture Objectives

  • Recently, climate change has become prominent around the world due to the increase in greenhouse gases caused by human activities, greatly affecting not only the natural environment but also the social and economic sectors. In addition, geologic hazards such as floods, droughts, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, and landslides are causing greater damage than in the past as the areas of human activities and industrial facilities expand. This course aims to understand the characteristics of paleoclimate, global environmental changes due to climate change and various geologic hazards, identify relevant research trends, and cultivate basic capabilities to respond to these problems and reduce damage from a geoscientific perspective.
