Introduce

The electrical energy & materials engineering major aims to foster talent with convergence knowledge of energy conversion and electro-functional materials. Through this, we aim to lead revolution of the electric industry by developing electric propulsion and high efficiency rotors for advancement of technology in the ship and motor industries, and to lead the revitalization of the fourth industry by developing energy storage/conversion materials and nano-electro-functional materials.

Specialization

Electro-functional Materials Engineering

Electro-functional materials engineering department provides the wide knowledge of the fundamentals of materials engineering, nano-materials and 3D printed electronics, and energy storage and conversion material technologies for perspective students. In the fields of material engineering, students acquire basic knowledge that must be understood in material engineering design, including introduction to material science, thermodynamics, analytical chemistry, and device analysis. In a field of nano materials and 3D printing Printed electronics, students acquire nano and soft electronic materials, and designs electrical and electronic materials and devices based on theoretical knowledge of nano carbon materials, 2D nano materials, 3D printing materials, and semiconductor nano materials. In the field of energy storage and conversion materials, students acquire the knowledge of battery technologies that store electrical energy and energy conversion materials that convey other energy into electrical energy on a purpose of improvement of education and research.

Electric Energy Conversion Engineering

Electric energy conversion engineering consists of electric machine design, power electronics application, and charged particle engineering. The electric machine design is a field of research on electric machines that use electromagnetic energy. Students learn how to design and analyze electric machines based on knowledge of electrical circuits, electro-magnetics and mechanics, and conduct related research. The power electronics application is the field of research on equipment used for the production and conversion of power, circuits and semiconductor devices that make up it, and control. Students learn how to design and control of AC-DC, DC-AC, and DC-DC power conversion circuits, and conduct related research. The field of charged particle engineering covers the field of research on devices converting high voltage energy to high power electromagnetic waves or equipments for advanced manufacturing such as semiconductor and special material processing, utilizing the physics of charged particles. Students learn expert knowledge and conduct related researches.
