Message from the President
We are living in an era where science and technology determine national competitiveness, and global competition over strategic technologies such as AI is intensifying. In this environment, UST must play an important role in driving national scientific and technological development and fostering global talent. To this end, we will pursue the following policies.
First, we will upgrade UST's major management system to foster 4C (Creative, Convergence, Collaboration, Challenge) global talents.
Second, we will strengthen research and education collaborations with top universities in Korea and around the world to ensure UST's global leadership.
Third, we will expand education that strengthens industry-academia-research collaboration, enabling UST to take the lead in regional development and further establish a value-creating educational model.
Fourth, we will expand the operational foundation for UST to develop sustainably and stably.
Finally, we will strengthen the organic cooperation and communication system with established research institutes and participating organizations.
I will utilize my diverse experience as a director of a research institute, vice president of a university specializing in science and technology, and CEO of a venture company to practice servant leadership organizational management. I will do my best to communicate closely with research and industry to foster world-class human resources, and to help UST grow along with the development of national research institutes to become the world's No. 1 national research university. Let's work together as a UST family to respect each other, and to cooperate and communicate more actively.
